One minute sighting of massive football sized sphere about 2000 ft up

As I exited the Halawa K-mart something above cought my attention. I immediately looked up and what I saw was a brilliantly lit, sphere

The object was a slightly illuminated brownish/orange sphere, barely visible in the night sky.

I thought it was a star as it flickered between white and red.
