Light Beings / Energy Forms
Also known as: Orb Entities, Luminous Figures
- First known report
- Continuous with millennia of religious apparition literature (a lineage Vallée and Eric Ouellet emphasize); in UFO-era case files, the 1977 Colares 'chupa-chupa' beams and countless bedroom-visitor accounts define the type.
- Relative frequency
- common as a report motif, though rarely coded as an 'entity' in databases — the boundary between object and being at its blurriest
Physical description
Entities reported as made of or wrapped in light: glowing silhouettes, self-luminous orbs that behave with apparent intention, columns of light containing figures. Common in religiously framed accounts and in the Colares attacks, where beams themselves seemed agent-like.
Skeptical reading
This is where perception science does its heaviest lifting: hypnagogic photisms, migraine auras, ball lightning, and the brain's agency-detection bias can each generate a 'being of light'. The religious continuity cuts both ways — skeptics see one human experience generator producing angels then aliens; Vallée saw one external phenomenon wearing the mask each era expects.
